About William Panos
William Panos currently serves as the Public Works Director for the City of West Sacramento in California. In this role, he works in an executive capacity, negotiating public works contracts and building regional relationships. He oversees policy and operations within his department, which consists of operations, engineering, and management employees. Mr. Panos assumed this position in 2007 after a long, successful history in a variety of executive and administrative roles. Among Bill Panos’ many accomplishments was his ability to generate over $754 million in revenue for the state of Washington, where he oversaw a large number of construction and renovation projects. These included the first K-12 educational facility “green” building program. William T. Panos also provided the city of Coeur d’Alene in Idaho with its first comprehensive plan for future growth and increased annual revenue by 12 percent. Experienced at generating new revenue and increasing the efficiency of bureaucracies, William Panos helped add over $430 million to the Massachusetts economy through the creation of more than 12,000 jobs and the renewal of a pollution-prevention campaign.
Beyond his abilities as an executive, William Panos is a humanitarian who believes in helping others. He is a member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, an organization that directly assists those in need. William T. Panos also works with Meals on Wheels Association of America and is a member of the Sacramento SPCA and the Sierra Club, which aims to protect the country’s natural resources. Additionally, Mr. Panos belongs to the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America as well as the American Hellenic Institute, an organization that educates political leaders on issues of importance to Greek-Americans. Bill Panos enjoys the outdoors, and in his free time, he hikes, gardens, and travels.
